Scene Six: Script continuation.
BLANCHE: Sometimes - there's God - so quickly!
(There's a long pause, then BLANCHE pulls away from MITCH with a doubtful expression. Polka music rises, in a minor key faintly from in the distance.)
BLANCHE: Did you even listen to what i said?
MITCH: Yeah, yeah I - I did.
(MITCH pulls BLANCHE towards him, trying to force a kiss, but BLANCHE forces her arms up to block him. BLANCHE pushes MITCH away and walks back to the window. She wraps her arms around herself.)
BLANCHE: No, no you didn't. No one ever does!
(BLANCHE starts to sob)
MITCH: Blanch I...
BLANCHE: You what? You wont listen to me when i'm morbid just like Stella when i expose my past and emotions? Well i'm sorry but i have to let my past out because its kill'in me from the inside out! The way i see life is, words are poetry you can not throw away, some are stories, some are songs. They become us! When everyone abuses my song a part of me gets lost! And soon i will will disintegrate into ash like a book on fire!
(BLANCHE withers away into the chair, covering her face as if in pain. MITCH awkwardly walks towards BLANCHE.)
BLANCHE: Mitch - I - i'm sorry - I - I don't know whats come over me. I'm just having a moment.
MITCH: It's ok Blanche. I - I'm hear for you. I - I love you.
BLANCHE: Oh Mitch, thank you, thank you so so much.
(BLANCHE embraces MITCH and the lights fade.)
A well organised piece and a good attempt at capturing the style of Williams. Ensure your writing is accurate - even on a blog. Some good imagery developing showing an understanding of Blanche's voice. Good use of stage directions.
